Startup Weekend Skopje 2024

In Skopje, from November 1st to 3rd, the 13th edition of Startup Weekend Skopje will take place, supported by Google for Entrepreneurs and part of the global network of Techstars Startup Weekend, which is organized in more than 159 countries and through which over 430,000 young entrepreneurs have participated.

Participants will have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and opportunities for networking and founding startup companies in North Macedonia. Techstars Startup Weekend is a creative and collaborative three-day educational event where anyone can develop and pitch new startup ideas. It's about pitching, business model creation, prototyping, designing, and market validation, in a friendly and supportive team environment.

Learn how to think, work, and build like a startup in 54 thrilling hours. Techstars Startup Weekend is an exciting and immersive foray into the world of startups. Over an action-packed three days, you’ll meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders and sponsors to show you how to get more done faster -- and, maybe even start that Business.

The Topic: Social Innovation 

This year's edition carries the theme 'Social Innovation' and will challenge participants to think outside the box in order to find innovative solutions to the biggest social challenges our society faces. Over three days, teams of creatives, programmers, designers, and young entrepreneurs will work together, inspired by the idea that their concept can have a direct impact on society.   

Social innovations are modern practices aimed at meeting social needs in a better way than existing solutions, arising from areas such as working conditions, education, community development, healthcare, social inclusion, climate action, gender equality, mental health, sustainable cities and communities, and many more. These ideas are created with the goal of expanding and strengthening civil society with the help of the business sector.

Terms of Participation Agreement: It is our job to provide you with an incredible networking and learning experience. Our intention is that you meet some amazing people that you might start a company with, learn from mentors and learn from your peers. The event is intended to be a collaborative forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun. As such, by registering as a participant, you acknowledge that any ideas shared by you or anyone else over the course of the event are contributions to the overall experience and community. If you’re very concerned, you can limit your pitch to the rough outline of the idea without giving away key information.

As a member of your startup community, you agree to be inclusive of any and all people and their ideas. You agree to act professionally, treat everyone with respect, and treat the event facilities with proper care. You agree that you are responsible in the event of any accidents or damages that you cause. You also agree to not hold Techstars Startup Weekend, your local volunteer team, or any of the event supporters liable for any loss, damage, injury, or any other unforeseeable incident.

By participating in the event, you grant Techstars permission to capture photos/videos of the event and use them for marketing purposes, so we can continue to offer amazing Techstars Startup Weekends around the world.
